Orange/Yellow color in foods



Orange or yellow color gives people the taste of sweetness. People don't actually know that these color of foods contain a natural plant pigment "Beta-carotene". Beta-carotene acts as precursor of Vitamin A and most important reduce the risk of develop age-related macular degeneration (eye disorder of elderly, can lead to blindness). Example of foods are sweet potatoes, pumpkin, pineapple, carrots, oranges and so on. In additional, beta-carotene in carrots help protect skin health. Yellow citrus food such as lemon is an excellent source of vitamin C and antioxidant selenium which is known to reduce the risk of cancer. So, orange/yellow color in food isn't just symbolize sweetness, but the meanings behind leads to a healthier body.
