Milk (Tips for fever patient)

Some general knowledge here.Patient that is having fever usually told me they cannot drink milk. Well, a fever is one of the body's immune responses that attempt to neutralize a bacterial or viral infection. It's perfectly no harm to drink milk when you have fever as long as you're not having gastrointestinal problem such as nauseated, vomiting or diarrhea. Milk contains high amount of liquid that can hydrate our body. However, the best way to maintain hydration is still drink appropriate amount of water. Milk doesn't make the fever worse but the protein content will curdle in stomachs. Milk always curdles in the stomach as part of digestion whether or not you have fever. Milk is not suitable to be consume when related with gastrointestinal problem. Thus, there is no indication that drinking milk when you have a fever is harmful.
